This court is on the roof of a college! I've left my name there two summers in a row but not been able to get access to the court. One guy I spoke to was concerned about health and safety. He took my details down but never called me back. Since I haven't been up there, I can't tell if the hoops are full size or not. If anyone plays there or knows how to get access, please let me know!

This might be part of a school or something from the look of it. I've never tried playing there, only seen the court from a distance, so can't know if the hoops are full height (if you find find out, please let me know). From what I've seen it looks quite open and easy to access.

They no longer have a full court but still have two practice hoops you can use when nobody has booked the badminton court they're next to.

Interestingly, in 1924 the team that played here represented Great Britain in the Paris Olympics, and won the title, beating the US. This was the first time basketball was an event in the Olympics and it was therefore a demonstration sport with no medals. Sadly, the YMCA replaced a quarter of the court in 2005 with a new "Cardio Zone", and in 2006 they disposed of the large hoops that made it possible to play half-court games.

Under the Westway, Part of the Harrow Club. Further west end past the tennis court. It even has NETS still attached!

3 full size outside courts near bethnal green tube in small park. Cambridge heath road, Cornwall ave and Malcolm place border it. Usually pick up games going on.

Brixton Recreation Centre

There are two courts at Brixton Rec Centre - don't need to be a member to hire them. The centre is about 100m from Brixton tube station.

Haverstock School, Chalk Farm

Indoor court available for hire evenings and weekends for about £45 an hour. Nice full-size wood-floor court with decent surface. They also have an outdoor court, not sure how much it is to hire.

Vauxhall Park

Free outdoor court but needs to be booked.
